Manage and have responsibility for the Bulk Transportation department and Fleet Maintenance, to include Router, Specialists, and Fleet Mechanics. The goal is to maximize the utilization of equipment and assets with a strong focus on: safety, regulatory compliance, world-class customer service, and teamwork within the department and company.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate of all commercial drivers, dispatcher, and administrative activities in both a proactive and reactive manner.
• Forecast department and business needs to drive improvement and efficiency.
• Provide effective communication within the department and organization.
• Responsible for overall routing of fuel delivery tankers over regional operating area
• As necessary, assist the dispatcher with review and evaluation of "call in" issues in order to determine the level of priority and the most efficient routing in order to service the account.
• Responsible for department budget.
• Ability to compute transportation costs
• Responsible for department payroll.
• Schedule and verify preventive maintenance for department fleet is performed on a timely basis
• Ensure unplanned vehicle maintenance is completed on a timely basis
• Improve the development and implementation of operating procedures as they relate to servicing customers, both internal and external.
• Manage the department personnel, to include counseling and coaching sessions, interviewing, hiring, and conflict resolution.
• Responsible for maintaining numerous large vendor contracts.
• Responsible for management of fleet maintenance shop to ensure that all fleet equipment is available, dependable, and safe at all times.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and other programs to ensure compliance with corporate policies and governmental regulations.
• Position requires some travel to include overnight and route rides.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Skills, Experience, and/or Education:

• Five years of strong transportation management experience required
• Proven leadership ability
• Ability to relate to others and foster strong team environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior routing experience required
• Knowledge of electronic logs
• Ability to travel overnight
• Class A commercial driver's license required
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to make sound judgement decisions
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Word
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good conflict resolution skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidential information
